Biografía del autor York Hovest, born in 1978 in Wesel, Germany, is an investigative photographer, author, and adventurer travelling the world in a never-ending search for inspiring stories and individuals. His chosen topics are always marked by his thirst for knowledge and adventure, and his research leads him to the world's most dangerous and remote places. At the heart of his work are the beauty and vulnerability of nature, as well as people, cultures, and ways in which the precarious balance between all these elements may be preserved. He uses his work and his platform to raise awareness for ecological issues in the hopes of maintaining our current biodiversity for future generations. In his project 'Heroes of the Sea', York Hovest follows people who have dedicated their lives to saving the oceans. Hovest is a sought-after guest in the media as well as a popular keynote speaker. In the past, he worked as an internationally renowned fashion photographer.
